A man has appeared in court facing charges of assault and robbery following a raid on Kinglassie Post Office. Craig Easson, 38, of Lochgelly, was remanded in custody after appearing in private at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Wednesday. Easson made no plea and the case was committed for further examination. Police swooped on Kinglassie on Thursday, January 18, when an incident was reported at the post office premises in Main Street. The premises were later sealed off with police tape as officers investigated the incident. The post office is scheduled to close next Tuesday, with services moving to the local McColl’s supermarket just yards away. It was the third such event to take place in the local area in a matter of weeks. Two branches of RS McColl in nearby Glenrothes were targeted within an hour of each other on January 2. Two men were later arrested in connection with the raids on the Parbroath Road and North Street stores after leaving empty-handed.
