A Dundee man has appeared in court accused of trying to rape a woman in a park after plying her with alcohol.
Stevie Petrie, 27, of Sandy Loan, is alleged to have carried out the attack in the early hours of Saturday morning in Orchar Park in Broughty Ferry.
Prosecutors allege he supplied her with alcohol and encouraged her to drink it while she was so intoxicated with alcohol that she was incapable of giving or withholding consent.
Petrie is then alleged to have removed the woman’s clothes, performed a sex act on her before attempting to rape her.
Petrie made no plea during a brief private hearing on petition at Dundee Sheriff Court.
His solicitor, Ross Donnelly, asked that he be released on bail ahead of further dates being set.
Sheriff John Rafferty continued the case for further examination and released Petrie on bail meantime.
