A man is to stand trial accused of walking into a council office armed with knives – then threatening staff before “showing images of the Illuminati and haemorrhoid” to workers.
Thomas Barczynski faces two charges at Dundee Sheriff Court over the bizarre claims that are alleged to have happened at Dundee East Housing Office on Pitkerro Road.
Barczynski is accused of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner and repeatedly threatening to stab and kill people.
The charge also alleges that he showed images of the Illuminati – the name given to various secret groups alleged to conspire to control world affairs – and haemorrhoids to workers.
A second charge alleges he had in his possession offensive weapons – namely four knives and a baton.
The incident is alleged to have happened on October 26 last year.
Defence solicitor Ross Donnelly said his client denied both charges and would argue that there was “reasonable excuse” for his actions.
Mr Donnelly said: “There is very little capable of agreement in relation to the weapons charge here.
“His defence is one of reasonable excuse.”
Barczynski, 45, a prisoner at HMP Perth, denies two charges on indictment.
Sheriff Alastair Carmichael continued the case to a trial date in March.
