A man and a woman have appeared in court in connection with an attack in Kirkcaldy.
Mark Wilson and Leeanne Napier, who are both 35, appeared in private at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court facing charges of assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and attempted murder.
Wilson, who also appeared on a robbery charge, was remanded in custody.
Napier faces a further charge of assault to injury. She was released on bail.
The pair, who are local to the town, face allegations under the prohibition of carrying offensive weapons.
They both made no plea and the cases against them were committed for further examination.
Police swooped on Miller Street, near Fife Ice Arena, after a 48-year-old man was allegedly attacked at around 4pm on Saturday.
A property in the street was cordoned off and guarded by police officers.
The incident prompted a major response involving a police helicopter, and the car park of the Rejects department store was used as a base for police vehicles and ambulance crews.
