A 44-year-old man is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday afternoon in connection with an alleged chainsaw attack at Caird Park.
More than 10 police vehicles descended on the park around 4pm on Wednesday.
A 67-year-old man was rushed to hospital after suffering a number of deep cuts in the alleged incident.
However, his injuries are not said to be life threatening.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 44-year-old man who was arrested yesterday in connection with an incident in Caird Park, Dundee, has been charged with relevant offences, and is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court later today.”
