A man has appeared at court charged with the assault of a Dundee woman.
Marion Lupu, 32, appeared in private and on petition at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday afternoon.
His defence brief, solicitor Nicola Brown, made no plea on his behalf and the case was continued for further examination.
It is alleged Lupu, of Church Street, Dundee, assaulted a woman – who The Courier is choosing not to name – in St Paul’s Court, an alleyway off Seagate, on Monday May 21.
Lupu is accused of seizing her by the neck, to her injury.
The Romanian national was granted bail on Thursday afternoon, having appeared in the dock from custody following his arrest on Wednesday morning.
It is understood he will appear in court for a second hearing before the end of the month.
