A Fife man who repeatedly stalked, battered and harassed four women during a twisted 10-year campaign of abuse has been told he faces a lengthy spell behind bars.
David Ogilvie appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court yesterday where he admitted a host of charges against him.
The 29-year-old was in a relationship with each of his victims, who all told how he became “controlling and jealous”.
He would accuse the women of cheating on him, despite being unfaithful himself, before launching his terrifying assaults.
The court was told Ogilvie continued to attack one woman while she was pregnant and carried out another terrifying assault as she held a baby in her arms in June 2008.
Depute fiscal Sarah Lumsden said Ogilvie sprayed an aerosol can at the head of another victim, before setting the contents on fire with a lighter.

Miss Lumsden said the liquid was highly flammable and created a large flame which went into the direction of the woman’s head.
“The flame did not touch her but she felt the heat from the flame. She then burst into tears,” she added.
Ogilvie, of Ostlers Way, Kirkcaldy, yesterday admitted repeatedly assaulting his first victim between 2007 and 2010 at various locations in the Fife town.
He struck her on the head, punched her on the head and body, seized and pulled her hair, pinned to a bed and kicked her on the head and body.
He then began a terrifying stalking campaign between 2010 and 2012 which saw him follow the woman, loiter outside her house, put glue in her door locks, throw stones at her windows and toss flowers onto the veranda of her flat.
Ogilvie also admitted he repeatedly sent threatening and abusive texts and calls before slowly driving past her house in his car and following her into town.
During the course of his relationship with his second victim, between June 2015 and May 2017, the stalker also followed her and drove up and down the street where she lived.
Ogilvie then terrorised a third woman during a four-month relationship in 2016 which saw him light the deodorant can inches away from her head.
His fourth victim was also subject to similar terrifying behaviour by Ogilvie who repeatedly seized her by the body and pull her to the ground by her hair in July 2015.
The court was told none of the last three victims had reported their ordeals until they were contacted by investigators from Police Scotland’s domestic abuse task force.
Defence solicitor Christine Hagan said her client had stuck to his strict special bail conditions and he would not oppose non-harassment orders being imposed.
She added: “He is under no illusion that the court that will be considering custody in this matter.”
Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist QC deferred sentence to allow for background reports and ordered Ogilvie to reappear on November 29.
