A man accused of murdering a 10-year-old boy has appeared in front of a sheriff in Perth.
Andrew Morris was seen in private at the city’s police station as he was deemed unfit to appear in court.
A petition alleges the 37-year-old murdered Kane Morris, 10, at his home in Coupar Angus on November 11.
He is also accused of the attempted murder of an eight-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, leaving her severely injured and permanently impaired.
Morris had been due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court but the private hearing had to be moved to the Barrack Street police station.
A sheriff, along with fiscal depute Tina Dickie, defence solicitor Cheryl McKnight and a court clerk had to travel a mile to the police office to conduct the court proceedings.
No plea was made and Morris was remanded in custody. Further investigations will be made and a new court date has yet to be set.
Kane was discovered by police at around 2.30am in a property in Union Street. The young girl, who is still in hospital, was also inside.
