A convicted Fife sex offender appeared in the dock twice in the same week after being charged with drink driving.
Methil man Peter Freeley was jailed for 30 months on Wednesday after being found guilty of sexually abusing two schoolgirls, one of whom was disabled.
The 45-year-old preyed on the children during sleepovers at his home in Methil Brae between January 2016 and September 2017.
He was blasted by the sheriff who said he had “exploited” his position of trust to gain access to the youngsters and that one had previously been sexually abused.
Freeley reappeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Friday after being charged with drink driving at the Cameron Hospital near Leven.
The pervert, who is now on the sex offenders register indefinitely, admitted he had driven a car on November 16 this year while he was over the drink drive limit.
Depute fiscal Alex Kirk said: “At 2.20pm, the accused attended at the hospital to visit a friend who is a patient. He was a regular visitor to the hospital.
“He spoke with staff and one member detected a strong smell of alcohol. Staff were concerned that he driven whilst under the influence and contacted the police.
“He left the hospital and approached a vehicle which was registered to his partner. He was then tracked by the police.”
Freeley was described as being “up front and cooperative” with officers and told them he had an alcohol problem.
Defence solicitor Iain McCafferty told he court his client had had one can of lager after waking up that morning.
He added that his client had been open and honest both with the police and appreciated that he should not have been behind the wheel.
Freeley gave a reading of 32 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 22 microgrammes.
Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist QC fined Freeley £550 for the latest offence but due to him already serving a sentence, he was ordered do the alternative which is 28 days imprisonment.
