A Young Scot award winner and former member of the Scottish Youth Parliament has been banned from contacting his brother after allegations he threatened to stab him.
Tony Anderson, 23, has been charged with sending a message that was grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character to Andrew Anderson.
The alleged offence was said to have been committed on November 27 at Papa Gz takeaway at Hebrides Drive.
He pled not guilty at Dundee Sheriff Court and was granted bail with a special condition not to contact, approach or attempt to contact or approach his brother, as well as not to enter Court Street.
Anderson, of Clepington Road, has an online profile describing himself as a Year of Young People (YoYP) 2018 ambassador and has previously won a Young Scot award.
He was also a Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament for Dundee West in 2016 and ran for election again in 2017 hoping to represent Edinburgh Northern and Leith.
During his time representing young people in Dundee, he campaigned for the Scottish Government to eradicate youth homelessness in the city and to provide safe and affordable homes.
The former Rosebank Primary and Lawside Academy pupil has been a vocal advocate for young people who have grown up in the care system and has talked about his body confidence issues as part of his various roles.
In the summer Anderson took part in producing Radial, a short film promoting Scotland’s YoYP and exploring diversity and opportunity in Dundee, which premiered at the Bonar Hall in October.
His trial will commence on March 21, with an intermediate diet scheduled for February 26.
