A 35-year-old man yesterday admitted stealing a road roller when he appeared in the dock at Perth Sheriff Court.
The court was told Kevin Robb had taken the roller and other items worth £5,000 from a construction site in Aberfeldy.
Robb, Cultenhove Road, St Ninians, Stirling, admitted stealing the single-drum pedestrian roller from the site in Duntaylor Avenue on November 12 last year.
He also admitted stealing a vibrating plate and a Honda 2k VA generator, but had his not guilty plea accepted to a heroin possession charge.
Fiscal depute Robbie Brown confirmed to the court that the total value of the stolen items was £5,000 pounds and that there was full recovery.
Solicitor Mike Tavendale, defending, said his client had previous convictions and realised it was a “fairly substantial” theft.
Sheriff Keith O’Mahony told Robb: “Given the value involved it seems appropriate to get reports.”
