Pair accused of seriously assaulting man on Alyth street

Two men appeared in court following an alleged assault in an east Perthshire town.

Mark Thomson, 42, and Ross Thomson, 30, are accused of attacking a man to his severe injury.

The pair, both from Perth, appeared in private at the city’s sheriff court.

They were granted bail, pending further examination.

It followed a disturbance at Beech Court, Alyth, earlier this month.

Locals reported a large police presence in the area on Thursday and Friday last week.

Three police cars were stationed outside Beech Court, while officers carried out door-to-door inquiries.
