A drug dealer who sold cannabis to a child was found to have orders from nearly 30 individual customers stored on his mobile phones.
Call centre sales adviser Hassan Muwanga has been jailed for 19 months after he admitted running a drug den from his home in Perth.
Muwanga, 31, was previously jailed in 2016 after he was caught red-handed peddling the drug to a 15-year-old boy who was stopped leaving the accused’s flat.
Now Perth Sheriff Court has heard that Muwanga immediately went back into business after leaving jail and continued, even after being raided by detectives.
He admitted being concerned in the supply of cannabis from his home in Potterhill between February 8 2017 and May 1 2018.
He also admitted assaulting and injuring his ex-partner in the city’s Tweedsmuir Road on December 18 2017.
Depute fiscal Michael Sweeney told the court that Muwanga’s home was raided in July 2017 and a number of “tenner bag” deals were found by detectives.
Two phones were also recovered during the police operation and they were found to contain drug-related messages from 28 different people dating back to February 2017.
He said Muwanga was raided again on April 19 2018 and, as officers approached his front door, they intercepted another of his customers leaving with cannabis.
This time they found more individual deals readied for sale, along with drugs paraphernalia and another phone loaded with drug-related conversations.
The court was told that Muwanga also admitted a domestic assault, after the incident was witnessed on FaceTime on the victim’s mobile phone.
Mr Sweeney said: “She was the ex-partner of the accused.
“There was contact between them which led to the accused entering the property.
“He grabbed her by the hair, before pushing her to the ground and punching her face.”
Solicitor Paul Ralph, defending, said: “There were a lot of text messages.
“It’s generally low-level activity but it cannot be overlooked.”
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis said: “The period is 15 months and covers a situation where two searches were carried out.
“A search being carried out didn’t stop you.”
