Three men have appeared in court charged with wilful fireraising and theft after caravans were set alight in Perthshire. The men, who all gave addresses in Fife, presented at Perth Sheriff Court yesterday following the incident at Loch Earn Caravan Park, near Comrie. It is alleged that John Gannon, 61, John Howell, 33, and Alexander Laing, 40, broke into a caravan and motor boat, and set two caravans on fire. John Gannon and Alexander Laing both faced three charges of wilful fireraising, theft by housebreaking and theft. The two entered no plea and were remanded in custody. John Howell was further charged with an attempt to prevent the course of justice. He too entered no plea and was released on bail.
