The 16-year-old has been charged with assaulting the victim to his severe injury. Police were called to the Gallatown area of the town on Friday evening. When they arrived officers found a 17-year-old male with serious injuries in Overton Mains. He was rushed to nearby Victoria Hospital for treatment. The victim, who cannot be named due to his age, was arrested and charged. The accused, who is from Kirkcaldy, appeared in the dock in private on a petition in the town’s sheriff court on Monday. He made no plea and was released on bail. His case was continued for further examination and he will return to court in due course.
