Police have arrested a man after gay pride flags were torn down and burned in Kirkcaldy.
The 35-year-old has been charged in connection with the incident and will appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court next month.
The banners had been put up in the Olympia Arcade by shop owners to celebrate LGBT Pride month.
They said they were shocked and saddened to find they had been ripped down and set alight.
A police spokesperson said: “A man has been arrested and charged after pride flags were torn down and set alight at the Olympia Shopping Arcade in Kirkcaldy on Friday June 7.
“The 35-year-old is scheduled to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Friday July 12.”
