A 22-year-old Fife man has appeared in court charged with terrorism offences.
Sam Imrie was arrested after police raided a house in Glenrothes.
He appeared in private at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Tuesday facing two charges under the Terrorism Act 2006 and one under the Terrorism Act 2000.
Imrie is accused of intending to commit an act of terrorism.
He is also accused of a charge relating to encouraging others to commit terrorism.
It is further alleged Imrie possessed information likely to be useful in the preparation of an act of terrorism.
Imrie made no plea and was remanded in custody.
Officers swooped on an address in Colliston Avenue in the early hours of Saturday July 6.
Shocked neighbours in the Pitteuchar area of the town expressed their astonishment at the allegations.
As uniformed police guarded the front and rear of the two-storey, terraced property, forensic experts in white suits and masks could be seen conducting a painstaking search inside.
They remained on the scene well into the evening, with police tape and tarpaulin eventually put up to seal the house off from view.
