A man has been sentenced to more than six years in jail for carrying out sex attacks on children in Blairgowrie in the 1980s.
David Dunn, 52, from Perth, was previously convicted of assaulting two boys, who were both under 16 at the time.
The attacks took place between 1986 and 1989 at a cottage and a caravan at a farm just outside the town.
Dunn, who previously lived in Dundee, was sentenced to a total of six years and one month for the crimes on Wednesday morning at Glasgow High Court by Lord Woolman.
He was convicted of two counts of indecent sexual assault on a child and one count of sexual assault and sodomy on a child.
Police Scotland’s detective constable Marissa McIntosh, the investigating officer in the case, said: “We acknowledge the sentencing of Dunn to six years and one month in jail for sexual offences against children over a prolonged period of time.
“First and foremost our thoughts remain with the victims and their families as they continue to attempt to cope with the horrific abuse they suffered as children.
“I would like to thank the wider communities in Perth and Kinross who have assisted police as we carried out our investigation. I hope that the community can take some comfort in knowing that this individual is now in prison.
“I would also like to acknowledge the hard work undertaken by our partners at Perth and Kinross Social Work Department who work tirelessly to protect children every day”.
A spokesperson for Perth & Kinross Council said: “We note the outcome of this court case and our thoughts are very much with the victims.
“Perth & Kinross Council is committed to zero tolerance of sexual abuse and exploitation and the supportive comments from Police Scotland locally reflect our strong partnership working to tackle this issue.”
