A 19-year-old man has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving following an incident in Methil.
Aiden Paterson, of Kirkcaldy, appeared in Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Thursday following his arrest the day before.
A 45-year-old woman sustained a serious leg injury in the incident in Kirkland Walk in the early hours of Saturday.
Paterson was also charged with four other motoring offences and breaching a bail condition.
It is alleged he drove without a licence and without insurance and failed to stop at the scene of an accident or to report it.
He made no plea at the hearing, when he appeared in private on a petition.
Paterson was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
He will return to court within the next eight days.
Emergency services had rushed to Kirkland Walk at around 1.40am following reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a motorbike.
The woman involved was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Victoria Hospital, in Kirkcaldy.
Paterson's arrest followed inquiries by Levenmouth CID.
