A man has appeared in court following a disturbance in a Perthshire village that prompted a major police response.
Armed officers, trained negotiators and dog handlers were deployed to Dunning on Wednesday night.
Andrew Munro appeared at Perth Sheriff Court the next day and pled not guilty to a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.
It is alleged he shouted and swore, damaged items of furniture, made threats of violence and brandished a knife and a garden tool.
Prosecutors allege that his aggressive behaviour was likely to cause fear and alarm.
Munro, whose address was given as Strathtay Road, Perth, was also charged with possession of an air pistol without a certificate.
Munro denies all charges and he was released on bail following a brief appearance from custody before Sheriff Keith O’Mahoney. He will stand trial at a later date.
