An Angus man who is struggling to come to terms with the end of a six-year relationship has been warned by a sheriff not to send “stupid messages” to his ex-partner before he returns for sentencing.
Joshua Harris, 24, of Union Street, Brechin, appeared before Sheriff Derek Reekie at Forfar having earlier pled guilty to sending grossly offensive, obscene or menacing text messages to his ex in which he swore and threatened her with violence on various occasions between April 21 and 23 this year.
The court heard Harris’s partner had ended the relationship and he struggled to deal with it.
Solicitor Billy Rennie said his client and his ex-partner were now in an amicable relationship for the sake of their two children.
Sheriff Reekie deferred sentence until January 16 for Harris to be of good behaviour.
