A man has been charged with possession of a weapon following a disturbance in the Menzieshill area of Dundee.
A 39-year-old man was arrested in Spey Drive following the incident at around 4pm on Wednesday.
An ambulance and several police cars attended. It is understood a number of people took refuge in the McColl’s grocery store while the incident was unfolding, although the shop manager declined to comment.
Police interviewed a number of drivers who were passing at the time of the incident.
They also carried out searches along Charleston Drive, Earn Crescent and Etive Gardens.
One Etive Gardens resident said: “I heard all the police arrive and saw an officer jumping a fence but didn’t know what was going on.
“It’s quite scary to think about it.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We received a report of a disturbance on Spey Drive in Dundee at around 4pm on Wednesday 16 October 2019.
“A 39-year-old man was arrested and charged with being in possession of an offensive weapon.
