Would-be thieves threw a large brick through the window of a Dundee pub during a failed raid.
The Snug Bar, on Main Street in the Hilltown, was targeted on Monday morning at around 4.30am.
The Charleston Bar on Charleston Drive was also damaged at around the same time with police investigating whether the crimes are linked.
The culprits smashed a large hole in one of the Snug Bar’s windows on the Church Street side before climbing in to look for anything of value.
Nothing is believed to have been taken with the three suspects making off down the street shortly afterwards.
A worker in the pub said on Tuesday the incident would not affect the running of the business.
She said: “They threw a big brick through the window which is actually still sitting inside the pub because it’s so big.
“We’ve just had the police come round to take a look. The insurance will cover it so we’re not out of pocket at least.
“They didn’t get anything, we don’t leave any cash on the premises, we’re not daft.
“One of the guys living close-by stood outside to guard it when he saw what had happened. I got a call at 8.30am to let me know.
“We’ve boarded up the outside so it’s secure for the time being and we opened as usual for Dundee United vs Patrick Thistle.”
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Two public houses were found to have suffered damage on the morning of October 28.
“One was broken into while the other was not. Nothing was stolen from either property.
“Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances and are keeping an open mind as to whether the incidents are linked.”
Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident number 0645 of October 28 for the Snug Bar, or 0654 for the Charleston Bar.
Alternatively, information can be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
It comes just a few days after a man was charged in connection with two pub break-ins as well as a number of attempted thefts.
The pubs hit were the Queen Anne pub on City Road and The Rock pub on Dickson Avenue, both in July this year.
