Flood alerts have been issued for Fife, Dundee and Angus as yet more rainfall is expected in the area.
Courier Country has experienced persistent rainfall for the past few days and the Met Office expects further outbreaks in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Sepa says that coastal defences could be breached in Fife and predicts the twin threat of coastal and river flooding in Dundee and Angus.
Its flood alert for Fife says: “Rainfall may affect the east of the area during Wednesday afternoon and evening. Isolated flooding of low land and roads is possible from small watercourses.
“Large waves may affect parts of the area exposed to the north east from late Wednesday evening through Thursday.
“Localised flooding of low lying land and roads is possible from wave overtopping around times of high tide.”
The alert for Dundee and Angus says: “Further rainfall may affect the east of area through Wednesday and into Thursday. Localised flooding of land and roads and isolated property flooding is possible from rivers.
“Localised coastal flooding of low lying land and roads is possible around times of high tide.”
Thursday’s high tide times are as follows: St Andrews, 2.45am and 3pm; Dundee, 3.15am and 3.45pm.
