Dundee House has been forced to close today as the council deals with widespread disruption to its computer systems.
Dundee City Council’s website is also down as a result of the problem.
Staff working in Dundee House were all sent home for the day on Tuesday morning after the severity of the problem became clear.
Limited customer services will be available for “emergencies only” and can be contacted on 01382 434343.
The IT issues are also interfering with email and internal systems.
A post on social media states: “Everything possible is being done to maintain council services, but some short-term issues may arise so please bear with us.
“Updates will be provided via our social media channels. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
The City Council branch of trade union Unison said the closure was due to a “coolant leak” which had severely damaged electrics in the council’s headquarters.
