Flights between Dundee and London are set to shift to a new destination in the capital.
The Courier understands planes will take off and land at London City Airport, rather than London Stansted at present.
Services between the cities will continue to be operated by Loganair.
The airline runs 11 flights a week. The link is supported by Public Service Obligation which protects routes which boost tourism, connect the UK and encourage economic growth.
Funding had been due to run out at the end of this year but the UK Government confirmed in October that it would be continuing its financial backing.
Loganair said it would be increasing the size of plane on the route from a 33-seater to a 48-seater.
At the time of the announcement, aviation minister Paul Maynard said the service would continue to operate from Stansted.
However, sources say an announcement confirming London City as the new destination, possibly as early as next spring, is imminent.
Bosses at London City launched a bid to provide up to three flights a day under a PSO earlier in the year.
