A Dundee lifeboat team’s resident seal has been captured acting as a security guard at their station.
Sammy, a familiar face to the Broughty Ferry RNLI crew, was filmed by a passerby taking to the jetty which leads from the team’s Fisher Street base to the rescue vessels.
The crew say the mammal usually appears at the foot of the stairs close to their all-weather lifeboat at the waterfront.
Sammy’s escapade has proved a hit on the team’s Facebook page, garnering hundreds of likes and shares.
A post to the Broughty Ferry RNLI Faebook page reads: “Yesterday we got sent this video of oor pal Sammy the seal.
“Sammy is a regular around the station usually found at the bottom of the stairs that take the crew down to the ALB.
Yesterday we got sent this video by Gill Ross of oor pal Sammy the seal. Sammy is a regular around the station usually found at the bottom of the stairs that take the crew down to the ALB. Yesterday he decided to play security guard and to take a donder along the jetty to make sure the gates were locked. Well done sammy!
