The hunt is on for the culprits behind a house break in where numerous sentimental jewellery items and a family heirloom were stolen.
The incident took place between 7.45am and 5pm on February 3 at Mayfield Grove.
Initially an attempt was made to force a door open, but this was unsuccessful.
The thieves then smashed a rear window to gain entry.
Most of the items stolen were jewellery, with the value being in the four figure sum.
The items included a white gold lady’s wedding ring with small diamonds, a white gold lady’s engagement ring with a single diamond solitaire, a men’s plain gold band wedding ring and a pair of platinum earrings with a diamond solitaire on each of them.
A Christening gown, off-white in colour with puff sleeves and lace detail around the neck was also taken. While there is no significant monetary value to the gown, it is a family heirloom said to be of great personal significance.
Witnesses are asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 2803.
