Dundee City Council leader John Alexander self isolates amid coronavirus pandemic

Dundee City Council leader John Alexander has said he is self-isolating.

The SNP councillor said his two sons have a fever and has taken the precaution under NHS coronavirus advice.

He said on Twitter: “Unfortunately, both of my boys have a fever so I will be following NHS Tayside guidance and self isolating for the coming week.

“I expect that it’s likely a viral infection but in the current circumstances, it makes sense to be cautious.

“All surgeries and meetings cancelled.”

He also included advice from the NHS for high temperatures or coughs, advising to stay at home for seven days and avoid GPs and hospitals.
