One of Tayside’s most popular music events has been called off due to coronavirus fears.
The Dundee Dance Event will not go ahead on Sunday, May 3 as a result of the covid-19 pandemic.
Organisers say concerns about the health and safety of revellers was their “number one priority”.
However they are hopeful that the event can be rescheduled for later in 2020.
A statement from DDE reads: “Due to the concern over coronavirus and the implications this has on social gatherings, DDE will not take place on Sunday, May 3.
“Your health and well-being is our number one priority so it was an easy decision to make given the seriousness of the situation.
“We will be led by the powers that be over the coming weeks and if it looks like we can arrange another date later in the year, you guys will be the first to know.
“This decision also affects the Northern Soul All Dayer and the Diaper Disco which were due to go ahead on Saturday, May 2. New dates for those events will be announced later in the year.
“Tickets already bought for all three events will be valid for rescheduled dates. If you cannot attend on those dates once they are announced, refunds will be offered.
“This is disappointing news for everyone but we want to keep you guys safe and fighting fit for when we return.
“Big love and stay safe.”
