A jealous domestic abuser who broke his girlfriend’s arm in a brutal attack has been jailed.
Dundee thug Steven Donaldson, 19, kicked the woman so hard, she had to have a metal plate inserted.
Serial abuser Donaldson, of Adamson Court, committed the violent assault just two months after attacking his previous partner.
The sheriff court previously heard the later incident unfolded after Donaldson argued with the woman, with whom he had been in a relationship for six weeks.
After she told him to leave her house, he grabbed her by the throat and held her on a bed before calling her a “stupid ****.”
As she raised her arm to protect herself, the teenager kicked her with brute force, striking her forearm.
He immediately apologised after realising the pain he had inflicted but left the property without calling for medical help.
She later received surgery for a broken arm and had a metal plate inserted.
In the assault on the first partner, he pushed her on to a bed before straddling her and pinning her down, causing bruising to her arms.
Donaldson’s solicitor Jane Caird said his actions stem from jealousy, particularly from social media use.
She said: “He is a young man who lacks the ability to hold back his jealousy.
“I think it’s the fear of losing partners which has been contributing to the offences.
“He pled guilty and wants to cause as little trouble as possible for the complainers.
“He recognises even at a young age that drinking alcohol and taking drugs is affecting his life.”
She added that the broken arm had occurred after the complainer had “brandished” a potato peeler at him and he was attempting to kick it out of her hand.
Sheriff Lorna Drummond noted Donaldson has a record of domestic offending showing a “pattern of behaviour”.
He was sentenced to six months for the first attack, which took place on St Columba Gardens sometime in September, and 12 months for the second, which happen in November, to run concurrently.
She also put in place a non-harassment order preventing him from contacting either woman for two years.
