Dundee City Council has restricted graveside funerals in the city to “immediate family” only.
The council has changed its rules for funeral attendances at cemeteries in line with Government guidance on the coronavirus outbreak.
At this time, immediate family is defined as:
Partner/spouse of the deceased
Children (and their partners) of the deceased
Parents (or carers) of the deceased
Brothers and sisters of the deceased
The council has also confirmed today that it has ceased a number of capital works. These include energy efficiency works, boiler replacement, window upgrades, external repaints and roof replacement.
A learning resource has also been developed with ideas to help parents/carers and children at home.
A council statement said: “With schools remaining closed, apart from support for vulnerable young people and the children of key workers, the council is signposting resources and websites for parents and carers.
“This includes everything from structuring a ‘school’ day to how to talk to children about coronavirus.”
