Leisure and Culture Dundee has announced the closure of all of the city’s libraries.
The move, affecting 13 venues throughout the city, was confirmed on Wednesday.
People who have items on loan have been told to hold onto them until the restriction is lifted.
A spokesperson said: “We have been working behind the scenes to update due dates on all items which are currently on loan and no fines will be incurred over the closure period.
“All we ask in return is that you care for and enjoy them until normal service is resumed. Unfortunately we cannot accept any new reservations while our libraries are closed as staff are not available to process them.”
The culture body said new library members were still welcome to join online.
