A video plea for information has been made by police almost a week on from the disappearance of a Dundee man.
Allan Smeaton was last seen in the early hours of Saturday in the Whitfield area.
Police Scotland enquiries revealed the 49-year-old was in the vicinity of the city’s Ninewells Hospital shortly before the last sighting of him, with concern now growing over what has been described as the “out of character” disappearance.
Earlier this week, police had urged locked down city residents to check garages, sheds and outbuildings for the missing man.
In a fresh appeal for the public’s help Police Scotland Sergeant Jill Dolan said Allan was last seen in The Cedars in the Whitfield area of Dundee in the early hours of Saturday March 28.

“We are becoming increasingly concerned for Allan, as are his family and friends,” said the officer.
Sgt Dolan added: “Allan is described as 5ft 7in with grey/white hair and when last seen he was wearing a light beige coloured fleece, a light blue hooded jumper with a T-shirt underneath, blue jeans and light blue trainers.
He was carrying an orange plastic carrier bag at the time of his last sighting.
Anyone with information should call 101.
