The family of a Dundee man who died in Ninewells Hospital last week have created a moving video tribute to the doctors and nurses who cared for him.
Shaheena Din told The Courier the family had made the clip to thank the NHS Tayside staff who had looked after her 74-year-old father Abdul Rashid Daud.
You looked after my father in his final days and as a family, we wanted to show our appreciation to @NHSTaysideCEO @NHSTayside In particular, the Ninewells ICU Covid-19 staff that risk their lives everyday to save ours. . If you like, show your appreciation and share ❤ pic.twitter.com/GcbRG9PFbX

The family dedicated the video, which Shaheena posted on social media on Sunday, to the Ninewells Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Covid-19 staff who looked after her dad in his final days and risked “their lives every day to save ours”.
The video, viewed more than 20,000 times on Twitter, features various members of the family across three generations holding up cards with a message of thanks.
It reads: “We are all so grateful that we had you our heroes at Ninewells”.

My dad, my papa, my anchor, my steer, passed away with Coronavirus. إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ – "surely we belong to Allah and to him we shall return"My heart aches and I wonder how it will get any easier. Papa, I love you— Shaheena (@shaheena_din) April 15, 2020
Shaheena said the strong public reaction to the video had taken the family by surprise.
“We didn’t expect the amount of notice it has received,” she said.
“It is really not about us. He was quite a private person but we wanted to get the message out about what the NHS team had done for him.
“He was kind, respectful and caring. He was pious and believed in helping others.”
