A dog was stolen from a Dundee property before reportedly being tossed from a car.
Police are investigating after the Jack Russell-terrier cross went missing from a garden on the city’s Turriff Street on Sunday at about 4.30pm.
The canine had been secured by a lead to a pole, allowing it to roam.
Police say the dog’s owner found it “shaking and scared” on Americanmuir Road not long after it went missing from the garden.
A group of people who found the pooch claim they saw it being thrown from a black car.
The vehicle is described as either a BMW or Audi with tinted rear windows.
The dog was not injured.
A Tayside Police Division statement reads: “Police Scotland is appealing for information about a theft of a dog which happened in Turriff Street, Dundee, about 4.30pm on Sunday, April 26.
“Fortunately, although frightened, the dog was not injured.
“If you were a part of this group who witnessed what happened, please get in touch with us.
“Also, if anyone has any information that could assist our investigation, particularly if you saw a car matching this description in the area around that time, please call 101 or speak to any police officer.
“Also, information can be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is incident 3459 of April 26.”
