A man has been charged after allegedly running away from police following a car crash in Dundee on Thursday morning
Police were called to Clepington Road, near the junction with Court Street North, at 7.55am.
The driver of a grey Audi is said to have failed to stop for officers on the road and sped off before crashing near Court Street.
He allegedly ran away from police before being traced nearby.
The Audi could be seen abandoned on the pavement outside the entrance to the trade park on Clepington Road earlier in the morning.
One resident reported hearing a loud bang on the street at about 8am.
Officers could be seen inspecting the vehicle on arrival.
A police dog unit was also called to the scene.
Police have charged a 21-year-old man in connection with road traffic offences following the incident.
A police spokesman said: “Around 7.55am on Thursday, May 21 2020, a car failed to stop for officers in Dundee.
“The car subsequently crashed on Court Street and the 21-year-old male driver got out and made off from officers but was traced a short distance away.
“He has been charged in connection with road traffic offences and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
