A Dundee musician treated residents of a Broughty Ferry care home to a special garden concert packed full of their favourite hits.
Finlay McKillop, 21, had staff and residents at Ferry House Residential Home on their feet as he wowed them with classic songs in the sun.
Residents were delighted with their front row seats to the gig as a video of their dancing has been viewed almost 100,000 times on social media.
The musical theatre student from Monifieth has been performing at residential homes across Dundee for more than a year and has been inspired to incorporate the experience into his studies at Emil Dale Academy in London.
The former Dundee High pupil is well-known for his operatic street performances on the city’s streets and released his first four-song EP last year.
Finlay also found the time to play a special socially-distanced performance at an 85th birthday surprise alongside his friend Paul Sullivan.
He said: “I posted on Facebook about looking to perform at care homes and for people’s special occasions during the lockdown because I wanted to help people who were struggling with the lockdown.
“Several care homes got in touch so it’s been quite busy but I love doing it and I’m looking forward to doing more over the next few weeks.
“It’s the nicest thing to watch the residents in their element as they dance away when I’m performing.
“It’s tough for many of them when they can’t have visits from their families so I enjoy being able to brighten their day.
“I’m very proud that they loved it so much. It’s beautiful to see how residents react when they hear a song from their past and they just connect with it.
“I’ll study the connection between music and Alzheimer’s disease as part of my dissertation because music is important to people who have the condition as it’s one of the last things to leave them.”
