A Dundee artist has been praised for a piece celebrating healthcare workers in the city.
John Fairley, who goes by the alias ZX81Graff for his artwork, made a sign and placed it alongside a road sign on Charelston Drive, pointing people to Ninewells and Dundee’s “national heroes”.
Council leader John Alexander took to social media to say he “loved” the sign.
Mr Fairley said: “I live very close by where the sign is and as lockdown started, continued to see buses, cars and pedestrians walking to the hospital.
“Ambulances coming up Spey Drive on a daily basis and what seemed to be an increase in helicopter arrivals all drove home the point that key frontline workers were happening on my family’s door step.
“I wanted to find a way to say thank you and here we are.
“It’s absolutely great to see John Alexander praising it. He’s been supportive of previous works of mine. Although he wasn’t aware this was mine initially, it’s great that a supportive voice can help get the message out.
“First and foremost, the piece is there to say thank you and make people smile and hopefully appreciate what we have.”
Love this sign and I would love to know you created this.
