Staff at the Carseview Centre in Dundee have been praised for supporting patients.
Mental Welfare Commission Scotland inspected the Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit (IPCU) and said patients in the 10-bed ward spoke positively about the care given by staff, calling nurses “helpful and approachable”.
Care plans were found to be detailed, person-centred and clearly structured, with good information about specific needs, agreed goals and interventions.
Nursing students were also said to be well supported.
Johnathan Maclennan, lead nurse for mental health and learning disabilities, said: “This report recognises and demonstrates the commitment of the IPCU team to high quality, person-centred, rights-based least restrictive care.
“The team should be incredibly proud of the work undertaken and ongoing.”
