Hundreds of homes in Dundee were left without power from more than two hours following a power cut on Saturday morning. The city centre was worst hit, with properties in the DD2 postcode also affected. A total of 692 homes were without power for more than two hours. A spokesman for Scottish and Southern Energy Networks said the issue was due to a fault in the network. He said: “The power went off just after midnight due to a cabling fault. it was restored at around 2.20am. “692 customers in the DD1 and DD2 areas were affected. “We would like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused and our engineers worked hard to fix the problem as soon as possible.”
