A Monifieth councillor has been cleared of any wrongdoing after it was claimed he influenced a planning decision near his home.
Craig Fotheringham, who represents the Monifieth and Sidlaw ward on Angus Council, was accused of influencing the council’s decision to refuse retrospective planning permission for decking outside their home twice.
However, an investigation by the Public Standards Commission found he had not broken any rules outlined in the Councillors’ Code of Conduct.
Commissioner Bill Thomson’s report stated: “The respondent did not influence or seek to influence the decisions on the retrospective planning applications.”
