A helicopter from Inverness has been deployed to assist a rescue operation on the River Tay. Coastguard and lifeboat crews were called at about 5.15pm this evening to search for a person. A lifeboat from Broughty Ferry has been launched with Coastguard crews from Dundee, St Andrews and Arbroath assisting. The helicopter which was deployed from Inverness. Police are also in attendance. Several boats could be seen scouring the Tay on Sunday evening. A number of police vehicles and ambulances gathered at the Broughty Ferry RNLI base as the search took place.
