The Dundee Dance Event, now recognised as Scotland’s biggest inner-city dance festival of its kind, is back on Sunday May 1.
The city’s favourite all-day dance music extravaganza will see over 120 DJs laying down the beats in 17 city centre venues for over 15 hours, bringing in thousands of dance music fans from all over the country.
The DDE has grown into a ‘must attend’ event in the dance music calendar since its rebirth in 2011 and organiser Mike McDonald is looking forward to this year’s shenanigans.
He revealed: ““The DJs and bar owners have once again got behind the event which is brilliant.
“The festival wouldn’t be where it is without that unwavering support and I can’t wait until the city’s bars are buzzing once more on bank holiday Sunday.
“The geographical reach of the event is growing every year and DJs from all over Scotland are taking part.
“There are a lot of music events happening each year but the DDE is unique because of the number of venues and DJs involved in bringing together the local scene on a large scale.”
Last year’s finale had almost 1000 people attending but this year the capacity has increased along with the sound and light production.
Organisers view this year’s closing party as the most ambitious to date, with four different music areas, but Mike is confident of its success.
He added: “The venue for this year’s closing party is state of the art in terms of the sound and visual production.”
