A Dundee woman who was at the centre of a major search after going missing last week has died in hospital. Kerry Jones, 26, went missing from her home on South Road on Sunday April 17. Police launched a major search for her and a Coastguard helicopter was called out to assist officers trying to find her. Residents across the city heard the helicopter as it scoured the city in the early hours of Monday. Ms Jones was traced later that day. Police released no details of her condition but it has now emerged she was taken to Ninewells Hospital. She died on Friday. A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm a 26-year-old woman has sadly passed away. “There are no suspicious circumstances and, as with all sudden deaths, a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.” Her death means both searches for people who went missing in Dundee on April 17 ended in tragedy. The body of 27-year-old Taylor Frazer was pulled from the River Tay on last Tuesday evening. Originally from Stirling, his funeral service will take place at Stirling Court Hotel on Monday.
