Self-styled local hero Bob Servant is set to make an appearance at Dundee High School on Friday as part of an event to raise funds for the school’s new centre for performing arts.
Author Neil Forsyth will be joined by cast members from the BBC series, including Jonathan Watson and Anthony Strachan, during the performance, which will see excerpts from the latest Bob Servant book, Ask Bob: Your Guide to a Wonderful Life.
Profits will be put towards the school’s campaign to create a centre of excellence for performing and visual arts in the city’s former head Post Office building.
Those attending the event will be treated to the Bard of Broughty Ferry’s inspired musings on a range of matters including money, love, relationships and cheeseburgers.
Mr Forsyth, who is a former pupil of Dundee High, said: “I’m delighted to support my old school in their campaign for a centre of excellence for performing and visual arts, and both myself and the actors are looking forward to performing Bob Servant material in his home town.”
Servant first rose to fame through the books written by Mr Forsyth, and has gone on to appear in several radio dramas and two series of a BBC comedy starring Brian Cox in the title role.
The event is strictly for over 18s and begins at 7pm, with tickets available through the school.
