A popular North East Fife pub has closed voluntarily after a number of staff members tested positive for Covid-19.
Cobbies Inn, which is close to the marina in Tayport, has made the “difficult” decision to close after receiving news of the test results.
The pub’s management posted a statement on social media on Thursday.
It read: “Unfortunately, we have made our own difficult decision, despite being told by public health that we can continue to operate our business as normal.
“We are all at risk, not just in the hospitality industry, but in every walk of life.” Cobbies Inn statement.
“We are closing the premises for a few days as a few staff members have now tested positive for Covid-19. We feel it is in the best interests of everyone.
“We would like to reassure everyone that we have carried out all the correct procedures. We are working closely with test and trace.
“It is unfortunate times for everyone and it just goes to show no matter how many precautions you put in place, that we are all at risk, not just in the hospitality industry, but throughout business and in every walk of life.
“We would like to say a big thanks to all that have shown their support and hope to see you all again very soon.”
