NHS Tayside has reminded members of the public to protect themselves when enjoying the sun.
Sunny weather has encouraged may people to get outside, but health staff are warning that proper protection is required to stay safe, even in cooler temperatures.
Skin cancer rates in Tayside are higher than other parts of the country with a steady increase year-on-year.
There were around 2000 cases reported in Tayside in 2015, according to NHS figures.
Consultant dermatologist Dr Andrew Affleck said: “Most skin cancers are curable but every year in Tayside there are several deaths, mostly from melanoma, so with the summer approaching we should all be sun aware.”
