Firefighters tackled a large blaze at a factory in Dundee on Wednesday evening.
Crews from the Kingsway were sent across the road to industrial powder coating company Kingsway Koatings, where flames could be seen shooting from the roof.
Plumes of thick black smoke filled the sky as police cordoned off Montgomery Avenue and Montgomery Crescent for safety reasons.
It is understood locals were told to stay indoors amid fears of a gas leak.
Transco were called to the scene.
Firefighters gained access to the unit, described as a large building measuring 200ft by 100ft, to fight the flames from the inside.

A second crew was stationed on an aerial ladder to tackle it from above.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the flames had been extinguished but crews stayed on to make the building safe.
Kingsway Koatings, which is between Scot Fyffe Motors and Aldi, carries out powder coating on car parts and industrial items.
