A Dundee school has beaten off competition from across Scotland to be selected as a finalist at this year’s Scottish Education Awards.
Braeview Academy has been named as a finalist for the Enterprise and Employability Across Learning (Secondary) Award.
The school is working to develop pupils’ employability skills by offering careers education, opportunities for vocational courses and work experience.
It seems to be working, as pupils have been described as confident in identifying their skills and their aims for the future.
Councillor Stewart Hunter said: “Teachers and staff in our classrooms and schools use many innovative methods to engage the imaginations of pupils and inspire their learning.
“I hope that these awards help to highlight the good work that is ongoing in Dundee.”
Finalists will attend an awards ceremony in Glasgow on June 8, where judges will reveal the winners of each category.
